Proposals for research will come into discussion in order to discuss and achieve lighting sources for esoteric purposes.
Depiction of ED28 and ED37 medium pressure discharge lamps with sized arc tube,
and clear (uncoated) outer bulbs, for a better description of inner details.
Briefly, there will be in discussion 2 cases:
1 - The former 'medium pressure mercury lamp' from which we try to use the advantages (not taken in consideration for general lighting) which we consider from our point of view;
2 - a development of lamps with noble gases and gases mixtures, working with hot cathodes and arc-discharge, avoiding the disadvantages of the high pressure discharge.
We remember that for our esoteric purpose we are more interested in the color and quality of light rather than a high efficiency, color rending, and other issues which are the subject of general lighting.
So, an apart kind of research is needed in this case.
As an overview, these lamps (lower pressure) have to have a larger (especially longer) arc tube, and a larger outer glass than the HID lamps of same power.
